その前に、ぜひ押さえておいて欲しいのがVShojo自体のメンバーについてだ。英語圏で熱狂的なファンを抱えているというのは、先日のAnime Expo会場のレポートでも伝わったはず（下記リンク参照）。今回、一部メンバーにメールでインタビューする機会を得たので、バックグラウンドや人となりをお伝えしていこう。

今回はSilvervale（シルバーベイル）さんをピックアップ！
ほわほわお姉さまなサクラオオカミの精霊で、セクシーな格好が目を引く。「スカイリム」（The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim）にどっぷりハマっているゲーマーでもある。Robcdeeさんという屋外配信者と日本を見て回るコラボなども行っている。

「クリエイティブな人たちの世界に迷い込んだ気分」
──VTuberとしてデビューした当時の気持ちを思い出して教えてください。
Silvervale もう何年も前なんだけど、まだ初めてVTuberの世界に踏み込んだことは覚えているわ！ 配信してたときはアバターを使って配信していたんだけど、「VTuber文化」について全く知らなかったの、ただ配信するのに便利なツールだなーって思ってただけだったわ。
そして初めて「VTuber文化」について知ったときに、魔法にかかったような気持ちになったわ。まるでクリエイティブな人達の世界に迷い込んだような気分で、そしてそこから色々な人とどうやってVTuberとして成長していくか試行錯誤して共に歩んでいった。皆の個性あふれるモデルやデザインを見ていくと、本当にVTuberを通して個性っていうのが表現できることはすごいって感じたわ！
──その当時と比べて今は何か変わった？
Silvervale 昔と比べるとVTuberというのはもっと有名になって、さらに始めるのも簡単になったと思うわ。今じゃVTuberを始めるために必要な情報をネットから見つけられるし、VTuber専用ツールも多く開発されてる。昔はそこまでVTuberを寛容に見てくれる人はいなかったと感じていて、配信業界ではそこまで真剣に捉えてもらえなかった雰囲気はあったわ。今じゃVTuberは多くの人に受け入れられて、昔より万人受けするようになったと思う！
──生身のストリーマーではなく、VTuberだからこそ実現できたことってありますか？
Silvervale そうねぇ、多分VTuberじゃなかったら絶対にできなかったことのひとつは「VILLS」への参加ね。VILLSというのはVTuberのためのすごくデカい祭典みたいなものなの。私としてステージに立って、多くの日本の人たちの前で歌って踊るなんて、あんな大きなコンサートはVTuberじゃなかったら絶対に参加できなかったと思う！
──今後はどんなジャンルに挑戦したい？
Silvervale リラックスできる読書配信みたいなのや、日本語勉強配信とか、ASMRを試してみたいわ！
──アニメや漫画、ゲームなどで、日本のコンテンツで好きなものを教えてください。
Silvervale 私の大好きなアニメは「犬夜叉」、「鋼の錬金術師」、「デスノート」、「モブサイコ」、そして「Spy x Family」！ 実は私は結構なハードコアゲーマーで、アニメよりゲームで遊ぶ方が多いわ！ 大好きな日本のゲームもいっぱいあるんだけど、その中で一番好きなのは「ファイナルファンタジー」シリーズ（FFXIVはアホみたいにやってるわ！）、「NieR:Automata」、「ゼルダの伝説」、そして私の一押しでもある「大神」！
──上で挙げたもののうち、一番好きな作品について語ってください。
Silvervale 大神がなんで一番好きかというと、やっぱり心を動かすストーリーと笑いを兼ね備えているところかしらね。あのアートスタイルも本当にユニークで、もう何度もクリアしたけど飽きることはないわ。プレイしたゲームの中で本当に綺麗なアートスタイルだと思うし、日本民話なども取り入れているのもすごくいい！
戦闘もとても滑らかで、アビリティやアップグレードで戦闘のバリエーションが増えるのもいいわ。そしてとにかくフィールド中を可愛い狼として走り回って皆になでなでされるのがとても楽しいの！
──尊敬しているVTuberは？ それはなぜ？
Silvervale 私は多くのVTuberやコンテンツクリエイターを尊敬しているわ、でもその中で特に尊敬しているのはワトソン・アメリア（Watson Amelia）と森・カリオペ（Mori Calliope）ね（編集註：ともにホロライブEnglish所属）！ アメリアはいつも凄い個性豊かで独創的なコンテンツを作ってて、カリオペはいつも頑張っていて彼女の音楽はいつも私を驚かせるわ！本当に二人とも凄いと思うし、とても尊敬しているわ！
──コラボしてみたいVTuberは？
Silvervale カリオペとキアラ（ホロライブEnglish所属・Takanashi Kiara、小鳥遊キアラ）、アメリアとコラボしたいわ！
──よくRobcdeeさんと一緒にバーチャル日本旅行をしていますが、過去に訪れた中で記憶にのこっている場所はどこ？ その理由は？。
Silvervale ロブと日本を探検する配信は私の好きなことのひとつなの！ どの場所が一番よかったって選ぶのは難しい。だって日本には本当に面白くて美しい場所がいっぱいあるもの。東京タワーに行ったときはスゴかった。あんな高い所から東京を見下ろして、あんなにデカい都市の全体が見渡せるなんて感動したわ！ 遊びに行った数々のレストランも忘れられない！あんなに色々なものが食べられる小さなレストランがあるなんて知らなかったし、そういった所にある料理が本当においしそうなの。全部食べたい！
Can you recall when you first as a VTuber, and tell us how you felt?
Silvervale: It was years ago but I still remember my first experience being introduced to the VTuber world! I used to stream with an avatar but I wasn’t aware of Vtubing or the community around it, I just thought it was a cool and interesting way to stream from an app I found on Steam. When I learned about the vtubing community it was almost a magical experience, like I had just walked into a world of so many creative and talented people, and we were all growing and learning new ways to vtube together. Seeing so many different designs and everyones creativity and personality coming out through vtubing was awesome!
What has changes since then?
Silvervale: Since then VTubing has become much more popular and definitely a lot easier. There’s so much easily accessible information and tons of programs built specifically for vtubing. VTubing wasn’t as accepted back then either, it was hard to be taken seriously or be seen as an equal in the streaming space. Vtubing is so much easier and welcoming compared to before!
Was there something you were able to acomplish because you were a VTuber? (Instead of IRL Content Creator)
Silvervale: One thing that I definitely wouldn’t have been able to accomplish if I wasn’t a Vtuber was being part of VILLS, which was a huge virtual concert for vtubers. I was dancing and singing as myself on a huge stage to thousands of people in Japan, I don’t think I would ever be in a concert like that otherwise!
What kind of genre of content would you like to tackle in the future?
Silvervale: I would love to tackle more cozy reading streams, learning japanese on stream, or try some asmr!
Please tell us what kind of Anime, Manga, or Game do you like from Japan?
Silvervale: My favorite animes are Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Mob Psycho, and Spy x Family! I’m a really avid gamer, I play games more than I watch anime! There’s so many games that I love from Japan, mostly Final Fantasy (I play a ton of ffxiv!), Nier Automata, Legend of Zelda, and my all time favorite, Okami!
Out of the answers you gave us from the previous question, please tell us in detail about a specific title about why you like it.
Silvervale: Okami is my favorite game because the story is so touching and funny. It has an art style that’s timeless and really unique, and I’ve played it multiple times and never get bored of it. It has the most beautiful artwork and I love how it incorporates Japanese folklore! The combat is really smooth and there’s a lot of variety with abilities and upgrades. It’s also just really fun running around as a cute mischievous wolf and getting headpats from everyone!
Which VTuber do you respect the most, and why?
Silvervale: I respect so many vtubers and content creators, but the ones that really stand out to me are Amelia Watson and Mori Calliope! Ame is always coming up with hilarious and interesting content, and Calli works so hard to constantly blow us away with her music. I’m so impressed by them and admire them a lot!
Which VTuber do you want to collab with?
Silvervale: I would love to collab with Calli, Kiara, and Ame!
Robcdee has been taking you around Japan quite often, out of all the places that Rob took you in Japan which place was the most memorable for you? Also if you can tell why that would be great too
Silvervale: Exploring Japan with Rob is one of my favorite things to do on stream! It’s so hard to pick which ones are my favorite, there’s so many interesting and beautiful places in Japan. I loved when we went into the Tokyo Tower, the view of Japan was breathtaking. It was so fascinating to see such a huge city in its entirety! I love all of the different restaurants we’ve gone past! There’s so many small and authentic places to eat that have the most delicious looking food, I wish I could eat it all!
